Is Daredevil a hit? It's hard to tell for it or any of Netflix series, because they don't release ratings like television networks or ticket sales like movies. But an independent third-party research firm has gone looking for answers -- and for Marvel, it looks like a win.
According to Variety, recent surveys by Luth Research shows Daredevil topping the list of Netflix original shows this year, with 10.7% of Netflix subscribers watching at least one episode in the first 11 days of its release. That's over 50% higher than the closest competitor, House of Cards. Take a look:
Netflix has yet to comment on these figures, but Luth Research comes to these numbers by way of a survey of 2,500 Netflix subscribers who watch on computers, tablets or smarphones -- however, they don't currently track TV viewing. .
In related streaming news, Deadline is reporting that Hasbro has reached a deal with video service Vimeo to make all of its licensed cartoons available on demand. The deal will kick off with Transformers: Generation 1 and Jem and the Holograms, with 13 more franchises to follow. Individual episodes will cost $2.99 to download and $.99 to rent, with entire series being sold for $40.
Other series which will soon be made available latter this year include My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, G.I. Joe, Transformers: Rescue Bots, Transformers: Prime, Transformers: Robots in Disguise, G.I. Joe: Renegades, Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters, Littlest Pet Shop, Pound Puppies, The Adventures of Chuck & Friends and B-Daman Crossfire.
