Video game company Telltale Games announced late Thursday evening that it has reached a deal with Marvel Games to develop games as early as 2017. Telltale is known for producing episodic graphic adventure games such as the comic-based Fables: Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead as well as cinematic adaptations such as Game of Thrones.
Polygon reports that the first game will be both a console and PC game series, but did not disclose what characters or storylines would be involved. Marvel Games Creative Director Bill Rosemann is cited as saying Telltale and Marvel are striving for authenticity with the games, and promises "eye-popping" graphics.
"If it doesn't turn heads, if it doesn't get you excited to talk with your friends, it's not a Marvel game. It has to command attention," said Marvel Games executive producer Mike Jones.
