So we got this crazy theory on who Julie Delpy might be playing in next month’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. It’s kind of out there, we warn you, but we think there’s an interesting (enough) trail of breadcrumbs to offer it up for public consumption.

This theory comes way of a piece of information released to the interwebs Tuesday from the mouth of Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige himself and then a purported cast list from the film that surfaced and then subsequently disappeared the same day.

As widely reported on April 2, actresses Julie Delpy and Linda Cardellini were included in a “From the Film” list of actors that will appear on the red carpet at next week’s Hollywood premiere of The Avengers sequel, with Cardellini’s name subsequently removed and moved to the list of other actors who have appeared in Marvel-related projects that would also be appearing for the press event.

The first half of our speculation equation comes Tuesday’s EW interview with Feige and writer/director Joss Whedon , in which the Marvel Studios' president flatly denies rumors and speculation that Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel will appear in the film, but offered that a secret but familiar female character will appear, adding that "it’s not a big deal. But it’s a good character."

The second half comes from the SuperheroHype.com forums. A Hungarian user named HunBoy posted a now-redacted list of what he purports to be list of cast and their character name that came with the Hungarian-language version of the movie to be released there on May 7 and known as Bosszúállók: Ultron Kora.

Although the source and credibility of the cast list are unknown, there are a few bits of info that suggests there may be some validity to it.

Potential spoilers ahead

The list identifies three characters as having the last name Barton, including Cardellini as Laura Barton (Hawkeye’s wife in the Ultimate Universe), along with a Cooper Barton (Ben Sakamoto) and a Lila Barton, credited to Imogen and Isabella Poynton.

IMDB doesn’t turn up any credits for Sakamoto, but the Poynton sisters happened to play Corpsman Dey's daughter in last year’s Marvel Studios production Guardians of the Galaxy.

Other interesting names on the now “removed by request” cast list include Josh Brolin as Thanos and Delpy as “Madame B," and it’s this last one we’re focusing on.

So to recap:

1.) a secret, female, good character who’s not a big deal; and

2.) Delpy may be a character mysteriously named “Madame B.”

This is where we beg you to indulge us…

There is no Madame B of note in the Marvel Universe, so Delpy’s maybe-character is either a new character or "Madame B" (if actually valid) is something of a codename. We’re running with the latter assumption.

Delpy is French and of course the most famous French “Madame B” is Gustave Flaubert's literary heroine Madame Bovary…

Madame Bovary.

… wait for it, it’ll come to you where we’re going with this…

Yes, Lady Bova is of course the long-time Marvel Comics character that served as the mid-wife/foster mother/nanny to none other than Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, the major new additions to the Marvel Cinematic roster of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Now, for you long-time Marvel readers who know who Bova is, no, we’re not suggesting Avengers: Age of Ultron is going to feature an appearance by the High Evolutionary and/or an evolved intelligent cow (but not for nothing, according to Marvel history, Bova was actually evolved from a cow of French origins… no kidding).

But given Avengers: Age of Ultron will serve as something of an origin story for Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, if the story features a moother-figure (sorry) for them either in flashback or even in the present day, would the 45 year-old Delpy as a Madame Bova or Madame B be that much of a stretch?

Hey, it's just a theory, don't have a cow...
