Marvel's one-time Power Man now has a man in power of his cinematic future.
Ray Donovan executive producer Cheo Hodari Coker has been hired as showrunner and executive producer of the upcoming Luke Cage series on Netflix. Coker will reportly also write the first two episodes of the series, which will reportedly premiere sometime in 2016.
In addition to Ray Donovan, Coker, a former journalist, served as a writer and producer on Southland, NCIS: Los Angeles and Almost Human. He also wrote the 2009 biopic of Notorious B.I.G., Notorious.
Coker joins the previously announced Mike Colter, who stars as the titular character, in this upcoming Marvel Studios project set to be third in the Marvel/Netflix partnership after Daredevil and A.K.A. Jessica Jones. Seeds for Luke Cage will reportedly begin in A.K.A. Jessica Jones with Colter confirmed to debut there first.
