Oliver Queen may have his hands full in Arrow, but that series' showrunner has found some time to do something creator-owned.
Oni Press announced Thursday a new creator-owned series by writer Marc Guggenheim and artist Justin Greenwood titled Stringers. Described by the publisher as an "action-packed miniseries about crime, corruption and the perfect shot," Stringers follows a freelance news reporting crew in Los Angeles who keep an interesting and busy life chasing down car chases, fires and shootouts for public demand. Their life goes from dangerous to extra-dangerous when they run afoul of the Los Angeles police deparrtment and the MS-13 in a firefight gone wrong.
“I’m excited beyond words that this long-gestating project is finally coming to fruition, and doing so brilliantly,” says writer Marc Guggenheim. “Justin and I had such a blast working together on Resurrection at Oni Press that I wanted to create something new just for him and he’s knocked it clean out of the park with jazzy visuals that really capture the concept’s humor and breakneck pacing. We both couldn’t be more thrilled to be back at our home for creator owned projects, where our first collaboration, Resurrection, began.”
Stringers is set to debut August 5, 2015.
