As DC moves from New York to California, one of its first west coast employees is returning to the fold.
Newsarama has confirmed that DC Entertainment has hired Ben Abernathy as its Director of Talent Relations. For the past two years, Abernathy has worked as the Editor-In-Chief of the digital comics start-up company Madefire. In this new position, Abernathy will report to Larry Ganem, the Vice President of Talent Relations.
According to the original job posting DC released in December, Ben Abernathy will handle communication with DC's talent pool in terms of pay, scheduling, company news, and art returns as well as oversee the logistics for "editorial summits, convention hospitality suites and talent parties."
This will be a return for Abernathy, who worked for DC on two previous occasions. Abernathy had a 10 year stint from 2002 to 2012 as part of Wildstorm and ultimately Group Editor of its DC Comics Digital line, and in the late 1990s spent one year worked on custom printing projects for DC as its Creative Services Coordinator. He worked in a similiar position for Marvel, and also served as an editor for Dark Horse early in his career.
