One of the world's original bad boys might be getting a chance to tell his story on the small screen.
Variety reports that Fox has ordered a pilot based on the DC Comics character of Lucifer. Based on the biblical fallen angel Lucifer, DC's Lucifer originated in the popular Vertigo series Sandman before getting his own series by author Mike Carey. In the comics, Lucifer resigned his position as ruler of Hell and, according to Variety, the TV series will see Lucifer assist Los Angeles' police department in punishing criminals.
Underworld director Len Wiseman will reportedly direct the pilot, and will also act as executive producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. Tom Kapinos, who is best known for Californication, will write the pilot screenplay and also work as an executive producer.
