Some say being a superhero isn't a job but a calling, and Doug Jones is being called back into action.
Jones, who has played comic book characters in movies for Marvel, DC and Dark Horse's Hellboy, has been cast to play the supervillain Deathbolt in an upcoming episode of CW's Arrow, according to IGN. Jones will reportedly debut later this season in episode 19, "Broken Arrow."
In comic books, Deathbolt is a villain introduced back in 1983's All-Star Squadron #21 with the ability to manipulate electricity. IGN says Jones, going by Deathbolt's real name of Jake Simmons, will have control over plasma energy.
Jones is a well-known acting in elaborate make-up outfits for sci-fi films such as Pan's Labryinth and the Hellboy films. For the latter, Jones played Abe Sapien, and also played Silver Surfer in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer as well as a clown in Batman Returns.
Amells At It Again
Just hours before a new Arrow episode is set to air, Robbie Amell, who plays Firestorm on sister series The Flash, posted on Instagram a shot of him with his cousin Stephen Amell, who of course plays Arrow's title role. They've appeared in photographs before, but is the in-costume image a hint of a Firestorm appearance on Arrow later this season, or just cousins hanging out?
