After Dan DiDio took on a lead editorial role at DC, some readers thought he had it out for certain characters to die - and it turns out he did.
While packing up his house to relocate to Burbank, California with DC's offices, DiDio has been reminscing on his Facebook page about memories, notes and artwork from his early days as an editorial driving force for the publisher. On Sunday, DiDio revealed a series of whiteboard pages done in early 2004 during a planning meeting for the road to Infinite Crisis - and among those images was a literal "hit list", as DiDio calls it, of characters which they were discussing killing leading up to, and in, Infinite Crisis. Take a look:
According to DiDio, this was a product of a meeting he held in Burbank with himself, editor Eddie Berganza, and writers Geoff Johns, Greg Rucka and Judd Winick - considered by DiDio at the time to be the publisher's "equilateral triangle of talent."
DiDio doesn't talk in detail about this "hit list" in itself, but it's interesting to see what's listed here such as "Kill Superman's Marriage", "Kill All Non-used Young Justice", and the Nightwing mentions, and compare it with how events turned out in comics.
