Marvel Studios has carved out an impressive film and TV franchise that's known for its inter-movie continuity as it is its individual characters -- as we've seen on several occasions, one small scene in a movie could propel a whole different movie or television series. And with the tight inter-connectiveness of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one enterprising comics blogger has chopped up all the movies, television shows and short films Marvel has produced into chronological order.
This has all the makings of an epic movie-watching event at home with your friends.
"Over the fall I decided to put together a supercut of all the Marvel movies, putting all the scenes in correct story order," says the Comic Archive's Michael Furth. "I like to call is the Marvel Movie Omnibus."
In Furth's version, the 'movie' begins with the opening scene from Thor: The Dark World featuring Malekith's battle with Thor's grandfather Bor, and then goes to a scene from Thor showing Odin defeating the Frost Giants and Thor and Loki as children. The 'Omnibus' ends with the Howard the Duck post-credits scene from Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer tacked on for fun.
Due to obvious legal restrictions, Furth doesn't have a supercut of his Marvel Movie Omnibus available but he does provide instructions about how it all fits in together to facilitate your own viewing. At over 20 hours in total, it's a daunting task but also an amazing feat - to make and to watch. Here's Furth's how-to videos:
