Jessica Jones has its lead, according to a report by Deadline. Krysten Ritter, who was previously reported as one of the finalists for the role, will star in the 13 episode series, they report, also noting that Mike Colter is the “choice” but has yet to sign on, for Luke Cage. Luke will appear in the Jessica Jones series first, before having his own 13-episode series as the fourth of the Marvel Studios - Netflix co-productions.

Daredevil kicks things off in Spring 2015, and it’s not a huge leap to assume we’ll be introduced to at least Jessica, if not both Jessica and Luke, on that series, leading to the next one.

And in other Marvel Comics related casting news, Ryan Reynolds has signed on to play Deadpool again for the new feature film. Of course, the entire pitch for the movie was predicated on him returning, and he even voiced and motion-captured for the Blur Studio and Tim Miller produced pitch video. Reynolds tweeted “It’s Chimichanga Time.” with a picture of Deadpool made out of bullet shells.

The Hollywood trades all report that his signature is all that’s left. The movie will be directed by Miller, off a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and falls inside the X-Men film franchise at Fox.

An early leaked version of the script actually addresses the first time Reynolds played “Wade Wilson, Deadpool” in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which is largely viewed by fans and critics as a disastrous approach to the character. They even sewed the “Merc with a Mouth’s” mouth shut. The film kicks up in March, for a February 12, 2016 release date.
