Could The Huntress make the jump to Marvel Studios? Well, the actress could be, if Deadline’s report is correct. Indeed, Jessica De Gouw, who has played the crossbow wielding vigilante on multiple episodes of The CW’s Arrow, is one of four actresses reportedly testing for the titular lead in Jessica Jones, the Marvel Studios and Netflix series that falls in line with Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.
The Studios are reportedly also looking at Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, and Teresa Palmer as possibilities in the role. All four will reportedly screen-test for the 13-episode series, being showrun by Melissa Rosenberg. They are also casting early for the role of Luke Cage, who will first appear in about half the episodes of Jessica Jones before moving onto his own series, which Deadline says is the last of the four, before The Defenders, the five-episode series that will combine the four characters into a team. Lance Gross and Mike Colter, both recent TV regulars, are up for the role.
So, that makes the order for the series relatively set as going Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. Don’t be surprised to see whomever gets cast as Jones show up in at least one episode of Daredevil, rumored to launch in May 2015, to tie it all together.
