As of this month, Michael Shelling is DC Entertainment's new Director of Publicity (for publishing), and he's already working out of the company's west coast offices at Warner Bros., where the rest of the DC editorial offices will be moving in April 2015.
Although his appointment hasn't officially been announced by DC yet, Shelling acknowledged his new job on his Twitter and Facebook page as "Director, Publicity (Publishing)" in Burbank. Shelling has also been included in emails and conference calls by DC Entertainment during the last week.
Shelling most recently served as public relations manager at Carbine Studios, and previously worked with Sony Online Entertainment, which developed and published the video game DC Universe Online in conjunction with Warner Bros.
According to his Facebook page, he's a long-time comic book fan, even commenting on Newsarama stories in the past. Posting via Facebook, Shelling has in the past shared fan-driven concerns about everything from Hawkeye and Flash artwork, to the Powers and Arrow TV shows.
The position of publicity director for DC's publishing operations has been vacated since earlier this year, when Alex Segura left DC for Archie Comics for a second time in the wake of the announcement that DC would be moving away from its long-time home at 1700 Broadway, NYC, to Warner's Burbank offices in 2015.
