It’s that time again, and February 2015 covers and solicitation text should be revealed in full sometime next week. Ahead of that, the first covers will start the slow PR release out across multiple sites like ours, and with Star Wars coming to Marvel officially in January, the honor for the new comic reveals goes to StarWars.com.
The official site debuted the covers for two of their releases in February. Star Wars: Darth Vader #1 gets a fully-painted cover from Alex Ross, featuring the iconic Sith Lord camping his lightsaber into the ground while Stormtroopers take shots in the background that we’re pretty sure aren’t hitting anyone. The series will be written by Kieron Gillen and drawn by Salvador Larroca.
They also revealed the cover to Star Wars: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Vol 2, a second Star Wars Legends edition, collecting some of those old-school 30-year-old issues from Marvel’s first go-around with the property. They did not credit the art, featuring Boba Fett, Leia, and some Stormtroopers shooting and missing. Because that’s what they do, get it?
Stay tuned for more from Marvel’s February 2015 plans in the coming days, including more Star Wars.
