Marvel Comics teaser tour of past events and major storylines continued Friday morning at Comic Vine, with Iron Man's Armor Wars the latest classic story arc the publisher promises to revisit in Summer 2015 in some manner or another.
It joins the Civil War, Age of Ultron vs. Marvel Zombies, X-Men: Years of Future Past and Planet Hulk teasers from earlier this week and at this stage is almost certainly related to the all-encompassing Secret Wars event Marvel announced last Thursday.
We have a feeling Armor Wars won't be the last teaser either.
Armor Wars of course refers to the 1987-88 seven-issue story arc by writers David Michelinie and Bob Layton and artists Mark D. Bright and Barry Windsor-Smith in Iron Man Vol. 1 #225-231, although the story arc was originally called "Stark Wars." The storyline involved Stark learning his technology had been stolen and was being used by supervillains and Iron Man sets out to retrieve his technology and to shut down anyone using it. The teaser image here looks more in line with the Planet Hulk one we debuted yesterday - rather than villains, it appears to be alternate versions of Iron Man from throughout time and, most likely, alternate realities.
