Fans demanded it, and Marvel and Funko have heeded the call: Dancing Baby Groot is officially coming.
Funko’s popular POP! line of vinyl figurines will be host to “The first official Dancing Groot Toy,” Marvel’s Ryan “Agent M” Penagos announced on twitter. It’s important to note that this is actually just a bobble head styled as the baby Groot - so the only dancing will be a head wiggle on this one.
Of course, Penagos did say first, so it’s quite possible (and even probably) that an automated full dancing Baby Groot will be coming soon. In fact, Penagos followed up saying, “I’ve made a number of calls about Dancing Groot toys today, you guys.” Disney Interactive showed off a virtual Baby Groot as part of the Guardians of the Galaxy Toy Box in Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition last weekend, as well.
Dancing Baby Groot was a breakout sensation from Guardians of the Galaxy, a mid-credit scene meant to end things on a fun note, with Groot dancing and Drax suspiciously checking up on him.
Originally designed as the end-credits sequence, Gunn moved it up to mid-credits so that no one would miss it.
Official price and release information for Funko’s Dancing Groot will hit next week, and we’ll update this story.
Correction: The original version of this story misspelled Funko as "Funco"
