As reported a few months back, Space Mountain is the newest ride from Disney Parks to come to comic books, as an all-new graphic novel adventure. Debuting on May 7, 2014, the graphic novel comes from Smallville and Arrow writer Bryan Q. Miller, with art by Kelley Jones.
Taking the concept of a ride and making it into an advenute comic book came not from sister company Marvel, but from Disney Comics itself, under the watchful eye of Marvel and DC veteran Mike Siglain.
In this Newsarama exclusive preview, we start, as many Disney properties do, with a castle - and soon after meet our Evil Queen, who Siglain said during conception was internally described as "Maleficent crossed with Darth Vader." That is not a combination to be sneezed at, and our young heroes will need some help. Check out the preview here, and look for Space Mountain in comic shops and book stores next week.
