"Some things you can't walk away from."
That's what Aiden, the star of Watch Dogs from Ubisoft says in this all-new story trailer, giving us a glimpse into his plight. The game will see him out for revenge after botched assassination attempt on him results in the death of his young daughter. Using a modified smart phone and advanced hacking skills, Aiden can control virtually everything in the connected city of Chicago, using the city's infrastructure itself as a weapon.
Watch Dogs will be released May 27, 2014 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and WiiU. The game was originally going to be a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and was in fact one of the earliest "next-gen" titles shown, with a premiere back at E3 in 2012. It was held back close to its release, presumably for more polish and also to not be competing against Ubisoft's own Assassin's Creed franchise.
There were some nods to Watch Dogs in Assassin's Creed IV, implying the games take place in the same universe, but whether that was just a fun easter egg or a hint at a larger connection remains to be seen.
