Marvel's one word teaser du jour is "Future," by Jason LaTour and Mahmoud Asrar, coming March 2014. So what the heck is it for?
There are a few possibilities here: one, it could simply be something we've never heard of before. More likely, though, this has two do with one of two "Future" concepts we've seen recently in other Marvel Comics.
Over in Superior Spider-Man, we saw Spider-Man 2099 come to the present day from the past - and stick around. While he's sure to show up a few more times in that book, could this be an indication of his own story being told? Although nothing in the color scheme of this teaser suggests Spider-Man 2099.
Also, in the pages of the X-Men crossover "Battle of the Atom," we saw future X-Men and future Brotherhood mutants come to the past. The Brotherhood stayed behind, as did Kymera, Storm's future daughter, ostensibly to hunt them down. With Jason Aaron's Wolverine and the X-Men ending in February, could this teaser be a replacement title, perhaps focusing on Kymera and the future Brotherhood?
As these teasers go, we shouldn't have to wait too long for answers.
