Variety is reporting Thursday evening that Warner Bros. has tested or will test a trio of actresses – Gal Gadot (Fast and Furious), Elodie Young (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), and Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion) for the female lead in 2015’s Superman/Batman-Man of Steel sequel that will star Henry Cavill and many of that film’s main cast members along with Ben Affleck as Batman.
The venerable Hollywood trade reports the role “appears” to be that of Diana Prince, Wonder Woman, but also cites sources that stress the role could be for Bruce Wayne’s love interest.
The casting description reportedly reads “tall, brunette, athletic and exotic.”
Variety’s ubiquitous “sources” add that a fourth actress could be added to the mix, but refute reports suggesting Jamie Alexander (Sif from the Thor films) is in the running, due to her future obligations to Marvel Studios
The growing but still-unconfirmed consensus is Superman/Batman will also feature either in significant roles or cameo other members of a future film Justice League, likely including charter members Wonder Woman and The Flash.
Warner Bros. reportedly had no comment.
