It looks like more of the stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are aligning in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television series. In an article on Marvel.com, the company announced that Titus Welliver, who played S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Blake in the Marvel One-Shot film Item 47 will be reprising his role in an upcoming episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The episode, titled "FZZT," will reportedly follow Agent Coulson and his team as they investigate a serial killers whose victims are found floating in mid-air.
Titus Welliver's Agent Blake is an original character created for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and premiered in Item 47, and was the lead agent that investigated the use of a stray Chitauri weapon leftover from the Battle of New York in a bank robbery by two opportunistic civilains. Working alongside Agent Sitwell (played by Maximiliano Hernández), Blake apprehended the two criminals and begrudgingly took on one of them as his assistant. In this short film it was mentioned that Blake served alongside Coulson in a previous mission, although the details of that remain unknown.
Welliver is a well-known actor in genre entertainment, most notably playing the Man in Black in TV's Lost. Welliver also played the superhero Triphammer in the aborted Powers TV pilot for FX last year, as well as an uncredited role in the recent comics-to-film franchise Red 2.
