The Xbox One will be released on November 22, 2013, Microsoft announced this morning. The next-gen video game system will see initial release on that date in the US, UK, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, and Spain. All other territories (including Japan) will see release in 2014 of the console.
The system is priced, as announced in the Spring, at $499 in North America, €499 in Europe and £429 in the U.K. the Xbox One will launch with 23 available titles, detailed here .
The release date puts the Xbox One exactly one week behind the PlayStation 4 in the US, the chief competitor launching from Sony on November 15, 2013 in North America, and exactly one week ahead of the PS4 in Europe (at least in the 7 European countries it is launching in), where the PS4 is released November 29. Sony's unit has the price advantage at $399, but does not come with the new motion-sensing camera - every Xbox One will be bundled with the newest version of the Kinect motion and voice interface device.
