BOOM! Studios and Universal are happy with how their first collaboration, 2 Guns, worked from comic book to film, as the movie opened at #1 and has just about recouped its budget in two weeks of release.

Next up for the comic publisher and movie studio is Day Men (the first issue is on stands now). The comic is written by Matt Gagnon (BOOM! E-i-C) and Michael Alan Nelson, and drawn by Brian Stelfreeze. BOOM! CEO Ross Richie and Stephen Christy (of newly acquired Archaia Comics) will be producers on the film.

Day Men brings a new take on vampires, focusing not on the bloodsuckers themselves, but on a group of humans who are tasked with protecting their vampire overlords while they sleep during the day. Universal is looking for it to be a new "action horror franchise," according to the report from Deadline.
