EW.com (fair warning, light/implied spoilers if you follow the link) released their cover story for this week's magazine - which, to no suprise, offers up Iron Man 3 - and gave some teases to the interviews within. Talking with Robert Downey, Jr. and Kevin Feige, the magazine did give a couple of big notes to their online fans right away.
"Everyone involved — including Downey himself — expects he’ll at least return for writer-director Joss Whedon’s Avengers 2 in 2015," the article states, which should give those waiting for positive news of the actor continuing his role as Tony Stark, Iron Man a sigh of relief. Word has been that nothing is a done deal yet, and Paltrow said in a video interview that she "doesn't think there will be an Iron Man 4," at least not with this team, so Downey's future involvement with the character and franchise has been as nebulous as it could be.
In addition, EW says "a source confirms" the presence of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in at least the current draft of the Avengers 2 script, as we reported last week. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige remained mostly mum, however, merely saying, "I’m not confirming or denying. The draft could change six months from now."
