Update 4/23/2013: Intriguing development Tuesday morning, as THR's original story seems to have been altered. Where once there was mention of The Collector, now it only says the following:"Details of Lovibond’s role are being kept in the farther reaches of deep space, home of Marvel's security bunker." Looks like the reveal of the villain was not supposed to come just yet. Whether that's because of a later reveal, or because it's still fluid, is unknown. Director James Gunn is in the midst of rewrites and location scouts across the UK as he preps for filming and continues casting. Original Story: Add one more to the Guardians of the Galaxy cast: Ophelia Lovibond, in an unspecified role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lovibond, a British actress who's appeared in Nowhere Boy and Mr. Popper's Penguins, is said to play "an aide to a near-immortal being called The Collector" — which appears to also confirm that long-time Marvel villain The Collector will have a role in the film.
Guardians of the Galaxy, written and directed by James Gunn, is scheduled for release on Aug. 1, 2014.Got a comment? There's lots of conversation on Newsarama's FACEBOOK and TWITTER!
