Hugh Jackman is officially returning to Wolverine in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, as confirmed by director Bryan Singer on Twitter.

Singer wrote on Tuesday night, "I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come..." Reports of Jackman potentially appearing in the film first circulated late last month.

Previously, the director tweeted that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen — who appeared in the first three X-Men films, the first two of which were directed by Singer — were also said reprising their classic roles of Professor Xavier and Magneto, respectively, though that was later reported to not yet be finalized.

Days of Future Past would mark the seventh film for Jackman as Wolverine, counting 2013's The Wolverine, out July 26 in the United States. Days of Future Past, a sequel to 2011's X-Men: First Class and based on the classic comic book storyline that ran through #141 and #142, is scheduled for release on July 18, 2014, with James McAvoy (young Xavier), Michael Fassbender (young Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) all returning.

And with Jackman now officially on board according to Singer, who else thinks there's approximately a 100 percent chance they'll reenact the iconic cover of for a movie poster?
