There
are two more weeks until its due in stores, but Lion’s
Gate has provided Newsarama with an exclusive clip of Ultimate
Avengers: The Movie.
This weekend,
Mike San Giacomo offered up a
review of the DVD release, saying in part:
The
movie is a retelling of how Captain America, Iron Man, Thor,
Black Widow, Giant Man and The Wasp got together. They intially formed
to fight a bunch of bloodthirsty shape-changing aliens with
the aid of The Hulk, and then ended up fighting The Hulk who
went a little crazy with bloodlust.
There
will be some slight spoilers here, so read on at your own
risk. I know how touchy some of you can get.
The
shift in story is handled brilliantly as The Hulk starts off
as dumb but reasonably tame and just keeps getting angrier.
You can actually see him going into a red zone and totally
losing control. The fight scenes between the Hulk and everyone
else are impressive, as is the surprise ending.
The story veers nicely away from the Ultimates
comic which is a good thing, otherwise where’s the surprise?
