Last week came the announcement that Joe Johnston has been signed to direct Marvel’s upcoming First Avenger: Captain America, and today comes word that Marvel Studios has signed a writing team: Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, this according to Variety.

The duo have written both Chronicles of Narnia films as well as The Life and Death of Peter Sellers for HBO.

As previously reported, Marvel’s film starring the flag-clad hero will be set in World War II, and will tell the origin story of Captain America, presumably up to the point where he is frozen in ice, to be thawed decades later by the Avengers. Also, given the approach of Marvel’s Iron Man, the smart money says the film version of Captain America will have more in common with the version shown in Ultimates by Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch.
