While the film may have garnered poor to mixed at best reviews, Transformers 2
has gone where no other film has gone yet this year – as of Tuesday, it
was the first film to make over $300 million in North America.
Also on Tuesday, the film passed the $300 mark worldwide, bringing its worldwide tally to over $600 million. Reportedly, the production budget for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was $200 million.
An official announcement in regards to Transformers 3 is expected by many to be coming shortly.
