Wolverine has had his moment in the sun, that’s for sure.

With an opening box office coming in somewhere between $87-$89 million dollars, it’s a safe bet that there will be more mutants in Hollywood’s future. While we’ll leave it to other pundits to speculate on what Wolverine’s strong opening means for the future of superhero films, we figure Newsarama readers are experts when it comes to what, or rather, who should follow Wolverine to the theaters.

While Lauren Shuler Donner is working on a film version of X-Men: Fist Class featuring the early days of the original X-Men (and there’s already talks of sequels to that film), Wolverine introduced a host of potential spin-off stars, not to mention a possibility of a next story for Wolverine, perhaps based off of the Chris Claremont/Frank Miller miniseries.

And it’s looking like a spinoff isn’t just fanboy speculation or wishing at this point. Speaking on the red carpet, Fox Chairman Tim Rothman said last week, "if [X-Men Origins: Wolverine] works out well, and we think it will, then we're going to be hard at work on [the rumored spin-offs]."

So – that said, Newsarama readers – and keeping First Class as its own separate project, who would you want to see in an X-Men-related film next?
