Arnett, Shannon Join Jonah Hex Cast

The cast for Warner Bros. film version of Jonah Hex continues to fill in, today with The Hollywood Reporter stating that Will Arnett and Michael Shannon have both joined the film.

From the trade:

Arnett will play a Union soldier who enlists Hex and is blindsided by the dirty fighting style of his enemies. The role is not inherently comic.

Shannon plays Doc Cross Williams, the bizarre ringleader of a brutal gladiator circus event. The character might appear in sequels.

Arnett and Shannon join Josh Brolin (Jonah Hex), John Malkovich and Megan Fox in the film directed by Jimmy Hayward. As the film is described by THR: “It's the story of Hex (Brolin), a scarred bounty hunter tracking a voodoo practitioner (Malk¬ovich) who wants to raise an army of the undead to liberate the South.”

The film is slated to go in front of the cameras this month in Louisiana.
