Re: The LIST! for November 4th
Doom Patrol #4 - Blackest Night comes to the Doom Patrol, and it's looking good, #3 marked a big step-up in quality, and the DP certainly have a lot of dead people in their past to come back and haunt them. Metal Men continues to be brilliant of course.
House Of Mystery #19 - Fig's dad is a bit of a tool isn't he?
The Mighty #10(of 12) - Man, Alpha One creeps me out. I'm sad that this is ending soon, it's been a really interesting look at the Superman archetype, and I especially liked the Police side of it.
Superman: World Of New Krypton #9(of 12) - Heh, Jemm Son Of Saturn, what a lame character to bring back, but hey, it could be good.
Sweet Tooth #3 - This book just makes me sad, it's so beautiful and depressing, there's nothing else quite like it out there.
Amazing Spider-Man #610 - More Clone fun, it's been interesting revisiting this particular period of Spider-History, and Guggenheim did a good job.
Assault On New Olympus - Herc and Spidey! Awesome. Hercules has been on a run of awesome issues lately, so I expect this to keep up the tempo, and even increase it. It's an event!
Captain America Reborn #4(of 6) - This is a great book, it's a personal resurrection, not just a big event, this is a Steve Rogers story first and foremost.
Deadpool Team-Up #899 - Ugh. I have to buy it for the RG, but I hate Deadpool soooo much. I do like Hercules of course, so maybe it'll be OK? Nah.
Doctor Voodoo: Avenger Of The Supernatural #2 - #1 was damn good, Remender is onto something cool here.
Ghost Riders: Heaven's On Fire #4(of 6) - I haven't read #3 yet! Must rectify that pronto.
Immortal Weapons #4(of 5) - This is Tiger's Beautiful Daughter right? Should be interesting, she's probably the most mysterious Weapon.
Nova #31 - Awesome to have this so soon after last issue, Nova Vs. Darkhawk is gonna be suh-weet.
Strange Tales #3(of 3) - Hilarious and Mad, I'd love to see another like this.
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #4 - Always a fun time, and lots of new mysteries going, The Shroud this issue.
X-Men Vs. Agents Of Atlas #2(of 2) - Come on Agents! Whup some Mutie butt!
Haunt #2 - #1 was only decent, but in Kirkman I trust, it's all about the long game with RK.
The Boys #36 - So glad to have Robertson back, he elevates the material, and Mother's Milk's origin is just brilliant stuff.
The Boys: Herogasm #6(of 6) - Double the Boys, double the fun this week, and I reckon this issue is going to be brutal.
Next Week:
Action Comics
Batman and Robin
Batman/Doc Savage Special
Booster Gold
DMZ
Green Lantern Corps
The Unwritten
Amazing Spider-Man
Daredevil
PunisherMax

Re: The LIST! for November 4th
A relatively light week, with the exciting stuff things I'll be looking out for down the line:
For Sure!
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #610
- This Kaine/Reilly story isn't bad.
DONALD DUCK AND FRIENDS #347
- Not lying... The Boom! Disney books sort of disappoint me, even though I know kids will probably like them much better than the anthology titles Gladstone published.
ESCAPISTS TP
- Didn't see it on the shop's list, but Bryan K. Vaughan and some nifty artists.
JONAH HEX #49
- End of the big story! Should be a doozy!
MARVEL ZOMBIES 3 TP
- Nextware Machine Man vs. Marvel Zombies? Yeah, I'm down for that.
SECRET SIX #15
- Some guest writer, I believe.
SUPERMAN WORLD OF NEW KRYPTON #9
- Hitting the homestretch, let's start wrapping this up.
TERROR INC TP APOCALYPSE SOON
- Not on Diamond's list - maybe not for another week or two (same thing happened, a lot, with the single issues). But, hey, if I can get it sort of early, cool - Lapham's last Terror Inc. was a ton of fun.
ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #4
- This has been a lot of fun. And I like the art a lot better than Immomen's.
For Maybe!
CINDERELLA FROM FABLETOWN WITH LOVE #1
- I usually don't get minis in singles, but I'm not sure how much this integrates with present-day Fables.
For Later!
ANGEL #27
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #30 - Still chugging along.
AOD ASH SAVES OBAMA #3 - This sort of thing has to end soon, right?
ASSAULT ON NEW OLYMPUS - I'm guessing this will be included in a Herc collection or something.
ASTONISHING X-MEN #32 - Ellis doing fun superheroes.
BATMAN WIDENING GYRE #3 - Huh, the Kevin Smith comic is only $3?
CAPTAIN AMERICA REBORN #4 - Should be pretty good, no?
DOCTOR WHO CLASSICS SERIES 2 #12 - Want new special on BD now.
END LEAGUE #9 - Ah, I thought Remender's Dark Horse work was done. This is probably it.
HOUSE OF MYSTERY #19 - Fun.
MARVELOUS LAND OF OZ #1 - That first series was pure gorgeous. I can't wait to grab this in hardcover next year.
STUMPTOWN #1 - Rucka. Mystery/noir. Oni. Yeah, I'll buy this even if it means a hardcover.
UNKNOWN DEVIL MADE FLESH #2 - Still waiting to see volume 1.
WITCHFINDER IN THE SERVICE OF ANGELS #5 - I'll need to give the BPRD-verse its own shelf soon enough.
For Next Week!
ACTION COMICS #883...AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #611...ANGEL AFTER THE FALL TP VOL 02 FIRST NIGHT...BATGIRL #4...BATMAN #693...BATMAN AND ROBIN #6...DOCTOR WHO CLASSICS TP VOL 04...FABLES #90...MARVEL ADVENTURES SUPER HEROES #17...OH MY GODDESS RTL TP VOL 13...REBELS #10 ...RED ROBIN #6...X-FACTOR TP VOL 07 TIME AND A HALF
For Your Consideration!
BATMAN BATTLE FOR THE COWL COMPANION TP - What I read was OK, though not essential. The Gotham City Sirens predecessor, with more Riddler, made me hope for more from that series.
CRIMINAL DELUXE ED - I'll feel a little silly if this includes the text pieces and such.
EXILES POINT OF NO RETURN TP - If you liked the Winnick/Bedard Exiles, give this a chance. It's fun, the art is great, and it takes the Claremont stuff pretty much off the board.
SUPERMAN BATMAN SEARCH FOR KRYPTONITE TP - Around here, Superman/Batman started to get fun again.
WONDER WOMAN RISE OF THE OLYMPIAN HC/TP - I guess DC's got some market research that says that people don't buy twice and those that want paperbacks are inclined to wait. Anyway, I suspect this big story will go over best in one chunk.
For Sure!

Keep on LISTin'
Getting to be the season for kicking back on the ol’ easy chair with a stack of comics.
This week
BATMAN BATTLE FOR THE COWL COMPANION TP — I was more interested in these than I was the main Battle For the Cowl story.
HELLBLAZER SCAB TP — Oooh. Milligan’s first Hellblazer stories. Can’t wait.
On Midtown but not Diamond
TERROR INC TP APOCALYPSE SOON — Lapham rocked the face off his previous Terror Inc. story. I was amazed by how much I liked it, somehow forgetting how intense and crazy Lapham’s stuff is. I won’t be forgetting this time and am expecting spectacularity.
Waiting for the trade
Witchfinder (BPRD brilliance marches on.)
Batman Confidential (Batman amuses me.)
Batman the Unseen (C’mon, now, no one can possibly not see the gazillion Batman series DC is currently producing.)
Batman Widening Gyre (Baaa)
Cinderella From Fabletown With Love (This character became quite awesome during the big war.)
Greek Street (More Milligan madness.)
House of Mystery (Vertigo seems to never have a shortage of great series.)
Jonah Hex (I’m itching bigtime for the newest collection, due on my back porch tomorrow.)
Sweet Tooth (I’m developing a taste for Lemire’s work.)
Doctor Who Classics (OK, the Tom Baker return to the role of the Fourth Doctor in the BBC Audio series Hornets Nest is disappointing in relation to the Big Finish productions. It’s not much more than Baker reading the story. Still, kinda fun.)
GrimJack Manx Cat (I love the morality plays that are GrimJack stories.)
Stumptown (Rucka’s Oni comics have been incredible.)
No-shows
Nothing among the stuff I ordered originally solicited for release this week.
Next week, based on Diamond’s tentative list

Re: The LIST! for November 4th
Man I am SO FAR BEHIND on my reading...not sure why. The Fall Back an hour bit has also left me in a funky funk. TONS more books this week...I need to find something to drop or I'll never catch up!
So on THAT depressing note here we go!
Thank you for submitting your pull list to Austin Books. Here is what we show on your list:
Item: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #30 JEANTY CVR, Still haven't read the last one.
Item: BATMAN WIDENING GYRE #3 (OF 6), Oh man there is a Gene Ha cover with the various Robins I want of this...I'm enjoying this take on a new side-kick for Bats! Good fun.
Item: CINDERELLA FROM FABLETOWN WITH LOVE #1 (OF 6) (MR), FABLES...come on, I'm SO there!
Item: DOOM PATROL #4 (BLACKEST NIGHT) COMES WITH FREE YELLOW LANTERN RING, OK, I dropped this last month BUT the free ring has lured me back...plus it's Blackest Night so we'll see!
Item: HOUSE OF MYSTERY #19 (MR), Ever really want to like a book but feel the love dying issue by issue! The annual was awesome though!
Item: MIGHTY #10, Dan D's refusual to address in his ridiculously useless 10 ?'s bit why DC even bothered with this and didn't promote it hacks me off. This was one of the finds of the year and DC dropped the ball!
Item: PROMO BLACKEST NIGHT CHECKLIST, Cuz I need to know what's next!
Item: SUPERMAN WORLD OF NEW KRYPTON #9 (OF 12), Wow, I haven't read the last issue which is odd as the Super-titles are truly rocking my world these days? Not sure what's put me off the last issue?
Item: SWEET TOOTH #3 (MR), THIS is Vertigo at it's best! I feel SO MUCH reading this!
Item: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #610, Week in, week out Spidey does it for me, A-level comic entertainment!
Item: ASSAULT ON NEW OLYMPUS, OK Marvel, you're losing me...I didn't get all the List issues, I'm bailing on the gazillion Hulk wars things, and I barely want this. I mean I could care less. Marvel's never-ending epics are killing me.
Item: ASTONISHING X-MEN #32, I haven't read the last issue. I'm a big Phil Jimenez fan but the writing leaves me DOA...
Item: BLACK WIDOW DEADLY ORIGIN #1 (OF 4), I've been a huge Widow fan since I started reading Daredevil in the 80's! Excited for this!
Item: CAPTAIN AMERICA REBORN #4 (OF 6), I never dreamed I'd be this not excited by this!
Item: IMMORTAL WEAPONS #4 (OF 5), SHOCKER, these have been GOOD! I miss Iron-Fist's monthly and pray it's back soon but these are GOOD!
Item: MARVELOUS LAND OF OZ #1 (OF 8), FOUR BUCKS is alot to pay for a book like this but I loved the first round...not familiar with the material but I'll give it a shot. I hated OZ the movie growing up and was thrilled to finally have a chance to get into it! Hopefully the same will happen here!
Item: NOVA #31, The never-ending space epic has me near dropping this, one of my favourite titles. BTW...didn't I just buy Nova 30 last week?!?
Item: PSYLOCKE #1 (OF 4), I hope this is good. I love her!
Item: STRANGE TALES #3 (OF 3) (MR), It's expensive but worth it. Big fun here! I hope Marvel does another round someday!
Item: TORCH #3 (OF 8), A big surprise for me is how much I am enjoying this!
Item: ULTIMATE COMICS SPIDER-MAN #4, While I loved this book prior for some reason even though I really like it still last month's is still laying in the pile!?!
Item: X-MEN ORIGINS ICEMAN, These have been fun so I look forward to seeing this!
Item: X-MEN VS AGENTS OF ATLAS #2 (OF 2), It's still laying in the pile!
Item: PROJECT SUPERPOWERS CHAPTER TWO #4,
Item: PROJECT SUPERPOWERS MEET THE BAD GUYS #3 (OF 4), I ALWAYS start near the top of the read pile with these titles! Having BOTH on one week is AWESOME! They remind me of when indie comics first showed up in my life via Eclipse, Pacific, and First Comics titles!
BIFF!
