Re: can someone spoil the list: wolverine for me
It's not that great of an issue. I won't try to take anything away from Jason Aaron as a writer, but I've found most of his Wolverine stuff to be rather generic and uninteresting.
More or less Marvel Boy defects from the Dark Avengers and warns Logan that Osborn is after "The World" (the Grant Morrison creation where the Weapon Plus Program operated) and so starts a good-ole'fashioned super hero team up. It guest stars Fantomex (I should say it 'stars' Fantomex, but it ain't his book so he doesn't get top billing) as he throws an assist MB's way after Weapon-whatever (a sentient religion, or hive mind-like entity) takes over Wolverine and a bunch of other weirdo's. Oh and Osborn has been reanimating dead bodies, and initiating a zombie-hammer agent thing that's doomed before it gets started. Like most of the "list" stuff it really doesn't serve much of a purpose as far as advancing plot lines in the main book (Unless it plays into "Wolverine: Weapon X" which I lost interest in before it ever picked up steam.
I think the only high-point is the art work of Esai Ribic, whose Daredevil cover work made me fall in love with his painting, but his pencils are outstanding. almost a mix of John Cassaday and Frank Quitely (The Best Shots review brought up Kevin McGuire, which I see, but I think it's more quitely)...phenominal stuff...

thanks man.
contrasting to what you said about the lists being bad, i did like the daredevil and punisher one shots.

I completely disagree with the above thoughts, This was a great issue. It is one of the rare list tie-ins that aren't necessary for the regular title, but it's still worth a look. In my honest opinion Jason Aaron is the best wolverine writer in years, and the best one I've ever read personally and he continues his strong handle of the character in this book.

it's not that I didn't like "the List" in fact I've enjoyed nearly half (i think)
I thought Avengers was cool, despite Clint's not being captured in any other title.
I loved Daredevil, even though i hated the art.
The Hulk was interesting and the art was solid.
and Punisher was easily the best of them all.
I didn't care for X-Men, Secret Warriors, or Wolverine and I guess I'll have to wait and see about Spider-Man.
as far as Jason Aaron is concerned, I enjoy his writing for the most part, but Wolverine is one of those characters that despite how hard a writer tries there will NEVER be any serious character growth. If the character is going to be the same in 10 years as he was 20 years ago then what's the point? Aaron is a great talent who really brought the GR franchise to life, and his series "Scalped" is cool too. I'm more interested in his take on MAX Punisher than anything he can do on Wolverine.

you bring up a good point about Clint, this list issue obviously takes place after the current New Avengers arc (which just wrapped up kind of) so it's kind of odd that Bendis let it be released so early. Especially since New Avengers hasn't really struggled with Delays in a while.

combine that with Luke Cage's recent appearance in T-Bolts and I'm not sure where continuity comes into play.
Did Luke surrender to osborn (during the latest NA arc) AFTER H.a.m.m.e.r. tried to use Danny Rand and the T-Bolts to capture him?
color me corn-fused.

don't get me started on that Thunderbolts issue, it stunk up the joint. It also ignored recent continuity with Danny Rand as well. Last we left off with Iron Fist, he no longer has a company, but instead put most of his money into his martial arts school.

The biggest proplem is that Marvel released the Thunderbolts issure before the NA issue. If you think about it, it's obvious that Luke was captured in the most recent New Avengers then HAMMER tries to use Danny Rand and the T-Bolts to convert him in the issue of Thunderbolts.

I can tell you now that that's wrong. In the Thunderbolts issue, Luke is a free man, eating at a diner when he's taken by the Thunderbolts. He wasn't in a hospital bed, he wasn't in a jail cell, he wasn't locked up in Stark/Osborn/Avengers/Whatever Tower, he was free.
If I had to guess, for continuity sake: Thunderbolts story => New Avengers story => NA List story
No clue where Iron Fist ties into all of that, since I haven't been following his/their book.
Back on topic, Wolverine was okay, but not overly critical to the grand scheme of things. Osborn took nothing from it, Wolverine likely didn't have any lasting results from it, Marvel Boy didn't really have any game changing moments either. I'd never heard of Fantomex/Phantomex/whoever or the World, so it doesn't bother me a whole lot that he walked out the door with it in his pocket.

Hmm. . . I am at work and was working from memory. I accept my fault.
. . . and like you said, the Wolverine issue was okay but not earth-shattering. I am hoping this leads to more Fantomex though, I loved him in the New X-men run from Morrison.

I think Bendis would be great at writing a snobby, French assassin...
Aaron too...
Millar would probably kill him off though...with all his well-publicized French-bashing and what not.
