Can you explain the Zod thing for those of us that didn't see it?

I know it's Mason from Dead Like Me and he's a Major instead of a General, but what's his whole deal?

We don't know what's happening yet, unless I missed something.

At the finale we saw Zod being release from Kandor (by Tess?) and that was it. Seems Kandor was busted wide open and a whole bunch of Kyptonians came spilling out. Zod's been spending 3 weeks trying to find them all, but only found a few dozen so far. For some reasons their red sun powers haven't emerged yet and the troops were getting restless with Zod. That's all we really know. Oh, except that 1 year from now something big happens with them and Clark and Lois jumping one year into the future. Plus, for some reason, when one of the powerless Kryptonians comes back in time with Lois she all of a sudden gets the super powers. No explanation why she didn't have her powers now (we saw her with the group at the Luthor mansion), but when she comes back in time one year she gets them all of a sudden.

I would have liked to see how Clark's Statue of Liberty jump ended, but I'm sure he went "splat!" I kind of like the black outfit with the "S" logo. Also looking forward to seeing more of B.A.G. as John Corben, aka Metallo. Also, didn't like the Dog Tags with the family logos on them, too much of a human thing, imo.

She didn't all of a sudden get her powers. I thought it was obvious that some time in the future, before the year is up, that they do get their powers and Clark works with them but for some reason, probably Zod being a prick, Clark turns on them and she travels back in time with Lois to kill Clark for that betrayal.

Nothing happened with the jump. It was a mental exercise designed to help Clark get past whatever mental barriers are preventing him from flying. As soon as it was apparent he wasn't going to fly, the simulation ended.

I HATE the black outfit. Especially the trench coat. I know the primary colors will show up soon, but I'm old school. Superman doesn't wear black. I know, he's not "Superman" yet, but you get my drift.

AICN have an article up claiming Smallville's ratings are down a whopping 45% from last year. Could this be the final season?

Although to be fair, almost all genre programming seems to be down by half. Does this speak to the ways in which people are watching or do the shows just suck?

Sorry, I didn't see it that way. I'll have to watch it again, but when she time jumped into train with Lois, if she had all the powers, why didn't she just freeze her with her breath or melt her with her eyes or for that matter just walk up to her and rip her in half? Why bother with the swords and all the kung-fu action with Lois? She wanted Lois really dead and you'd think if she'd had all the powers it wouldn't have been a problem. When she was looking at the mailbox and she started melting it with her heat vision, I though that was when she first started to get the powers. I'm not saying I'm right, that's just how I saw it. But I could be completely wrong.

Oh, ok. I see that now. Thank you. See, sometimes it takes me a while to catch-up, so I could be completely wrong about the ideas above too. As for his outfit, it won't last too long. He's just wearing black cause he's in mourning. I don't know if we'll every see the classic red and blue. Maybe on the series finale. Plus, it's not the first time Supes worn black. He had the black outfit with the silver logo when he "returned" after his "death".

Firstly, why doesn't Clark do the same thing when he gets into fights? Just freeze his opponents with his superbreath or torch them with his heat vision? Why does he use his fists? Because it makes for a boring story AND it kills off a major character in the show. She wasn't trying to kill Lois, as she said, she was trying to get Clark's attention and what better way than to go after Lois?

Just out of curiousity, what did you like about last season?

Sure there was promise, what with a relatively faithful Doomsday, the debut of the Legion, more from the proto-Justice League, Clark finally taking on a superhero identity (even if it isn't strictly Superman), romance rearing it's head between Lois and Clark, and most importantly, a reduced episode count from one Kristin "i can make grown men cry with my bitchiness" Kruek.

Unfortunately, (in my opinion) they pissed all the fanboy good-will away with their HORRIBLE decisions throughout the season. Clark remained as dumb as a mental patient on day release, Lana-worship took up a giant chunk in the middle of the season, Chloe turned against everyone she cares about to side with a mass murderer, said mass murderer Davis yoyoed between repentful and sadistic in every scene (making for one hell of a confusing motivation), similarly newbie Tess couldn't decide whether she was good or evil (i still don't know what she's supposed to bring to the table), Green Arrow killed Lex Luthor (i doubt it'll stick, but the implementation sucked), Jimmy Olsen was turned into a drug addict quicker than you can click your fingers, only to die and be revealed that he wasn't THE Jimmy Olsen (stupid stupid stupid) and the big finale they were building to amounted to a quick tussle and resolution off-screen.

It COULD have been an awesome season, but their soap opera tendencies ruined any chance of that.

This may sound kind of strange (and off-topic), but I heard somewhere that the chick who plays Lois Lane is designing her own video game. It's called the Fashion Fantasy game:

http://www.fashionfantasygame.com/

Obviously, she doesn't program it herself, but I'm pretty sure she's either the brains behind it or she's endorsing it. I tried it out and was surprised to find that it was a pretty good game for a free game. I might be biased though, because it's meant to educate kids by simulating the fashion industry, but then again, maybe people with no interest in fashion like it too.

Does anyone else play this game? I'm wondering why she would shift from acting to this all of a sudden.

they were barely in it... though I did miss the first bit
more of Lois figuring out Clark's secret, and Clark doing what he has to do convince her otherwise
they also swap spit again
and as for why I liked last season so much.. probably because it was SO much better than two years ago...
I'm also enjoying this year as well. And Geoff Johns knows how to write TV...

It was alright. Not too much of them in it as mentioned. No Gleek, of course, but a nice little homage to him that made me laugh. Lots of purple in their clothes to represent their costumes, plus their eyes glowed purple when they used their powers. Wasn't too impressed with how they didn't have to touch again to deactivate their powers. Oh well. I was also disappointed when they didn't actually say "Wonder Twin Powers Activate", but it's probably some copyright thing. Or the producers just thought it was too corney, but the fans would have loved it. Clark got "Wonder Twins" in at the end. Chloe also said a few things that paid homage to the past that made me laugh, I just can't remember them right at the moment. I wonder if they'll join Ollie and the rest of his Justice League.

Looks like next week we get a peek into Lois' trip to the future. Should be good.

Arg. Just fly already. Just get to it...Can't believe they are thinking of dragging this out for another season. It's ridiculous that I've given this show first, second and third chances.

Just fly already.

Yeah, "J" and "Z" were rather pointless to the entire ep. Anyone could've been used for their role. It wasn't even explained who they really were or where their powers come from, although Chloe made a reference/assumption it was from meteors).
