So it seems that Tony Stark had been brainwashed by Ultron to rebuild him etc. (like had been done before)...but this time it was a biggie! Stark turned into a full fledged bad guy, killing Avengers and generally making their lives a living hell. He killed or helped kill Gilgamesh, Yellowjacket II, Franklin Richards' Inhuman nanny(can't recall her namee) and NEARLY Wasp. She had to 'cocoon' and 'evolve' into a newer, less human version of herself.

So THEN the Avengers realize they need Tony's help to defeat the bad guy team of Iron Man, Ultron and Mantis (don't try to figure this out, it hurts too much), so they went back in time to get a teenage version of Tony (before he 'went bad') to help them. He came back to the present, helped them kill grown up Tony, but then couldn't go back in time so was stuck here.

It seems odd that all that wold happen without it affecting the current comics, right?

Right after that (like within a few months), Onslaught happened and all the main Avengers were gone (doing alt. universe stuff with the Image crew).

When they came back from that lapse in Marvel judgment there was one positive effect... they ignored damn near all of that. No more teen Tony. No more evil Tony (until, you know...). No more non-human Wasp. They kept the dead guys dead (mostly), but other than that, they never mentioned that mess ever again.

If you ever have the opportunity to read The Crossing, don't. Find something else to read. I hear Thomas Hardy is a real barrel of laughs...

Been awhile. This issue drove me back to the 'Rama.

Been awhile. This issue drove me back to the 'Rama.

Hmmmm. Rogers being assassinated took me out of comics altogether...made me take a good hard look and all that...like I read somewhere else here, everyone’s favorite character gets killed and brought back eventually and there’s no point crying about it.

My first thought was this was going to be another classic example of Steve's indomitable will. Skull takes over...screws with Buck a bit, Rogers’ fights back and shuts Skull out. .which while I won't complain....much, we've seen that many times over.

Issue 5 is going to be boombastic and 6 outta bring it home.

Bucky...Winter Soldier? Nomad? thoughts? close(-)
