Dynamite Entertainment has provided Newsarama with a first look at the John Romita Sr. Chase Cover to December’s The Death Defying Devil #1, a spin-off from the publisher’s Project Superpowers. The cover is penciled by Romita Sr. and inked by Alex Ross.

Romita is of course, known best for his work on Daredevil and Amazing Spider-Man in th e’60s and ‘70s, as well as serving as Marvel’s art director in the ‘70s, allowing him to influence the iconic looks of many of the characters created in that era including the Punisher and Wolverine.

Romita (along with George Tuska) has also provided a cover for The Black Terror #1 as well.

“We’re extremely excited that as Project Superpowers expands, so does our tradition of covers by legendary artists. Having Jazzy John on board for the The Death Defying ‘Devil is simply flawless in more one ways than one,” Dynamite's Nick Barrucci says. “And adding John Romita Sr. to a cover rooster featuring names such as John Cassaday and Alex Ross will undoubted make The Death Defying ‘Devil the best dressed comic on the racks!”

The upcoming series is written by Joe Casey.
