Diamond Comics Distributors announced the identity of the Gold Sponsors and their comic book offerings for the 2010 (and 9th annual) Free Comic Book Day (FCDB).
Taking place on Saturday, May 1st 2010, 10 free “Gold” comic books will be offered, including selections from Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image and more. The selections – which Diamond says “includes a comic book for everyone’s tastes” – range from comics specifically geared towards “all ages” readers, to one-shots that serve as a kick-start to some of the major publisher’s biggest 2010 story events.
According to Diamond, “Gold Sponsor comics include special FCBD editions designed to attract new readers into comic shops with some of the industry’s most widely recognized characters.”
“This year’s roster of Gold Comics looks amazing,” said FCBD spokesperson Elissa Lynch. “We’re pleased to showcase the best the comics industry has to offer – and hopeful that this year’s comics will drive new customers to see what’s great about comics and their local comic book shop.”
2010 Silver Sponsor comics will be announced on December 23rd and all the offerings can be ordered through the January issue of Diamond Comic Distributors’ PREVIEWS catalog, on sale at all comic book shops on January 6th, 2010.
The full Gold line-up follows, and as always readers can always find more FCBD news and updates at www.freecomicbookday.com. or follow updates on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/FCBD10.
