Friday Flashback: Big Years
By Troy Brownfield

We typically inject every Friday Flashback with a bit that indicates what was going on in the year associated with the particular Friday that we’re covering.  It struck me today that we’ve been talking a lot this week about 1989.

Consider . . .

The Sandman started.

V for Vendetta wrapped up.

The Tim Burton/Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson Batman landed.

Alan Moore’s last issue of Miracleman hits.

The second volume of Elementals begins.

Tim Drake became Robin.

The X-Men, X-Factor and the New Mutants took part in “Inferno”, an event which revealed Jean Grey’s rebirth to the rest of the X-Men.

And that’s off the top of my head.

So that’s the springboard for our discussion today.  We hear a lot about 1986 or 1961.  We hear a lot about 1938 and 1956.

I am asking YOU . . . what are, in your estimation, the FIVE biggest years in comics, and why?

Let’s hear it, readers.  Next week, our results.
