Following last week's leaked Iron Patriot photos, Disney has released the first official on-set photo from Iron Man 3 — a production shot inside Tony Stark's armory. Disney's press release confirms that the film — the first Marvel Studios follow-up to The Avengers, now officially the third highest-grossing movie of all time — has begun shooting in Wilmington, North Carolina, before heading to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Miami, Florida; and an unspecified location in China — home country of Iron Man comic book nemesis The Mandarin, widely expected (and reported last week by Latino Review) to be played by Ben Kingsley in the film. from last week.Kingsley isn't mentioned in the release, nor is any other actor new to the franchise or any details on the story — which, by all accounts, is heavily influenced by Warren Ellis and Adi Granov's "Extremis" arc. Disney does acknowledge the return of main players Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Don Cheadle along with Jon Favreau, the Iron Man and Iron Man 2 director who is reprising his role as Happy Hogan. Iron Man 3, directed by Shane Black, is scheduled for release on May 3, 2013. More from Newsarama:
