VALIANT Goes Digital Exclusive with comiXology for Relaunch

Valiant Comics officially relaunches as of today, with the release of X-O Manowar #1. The series starts the "Summer of Valiant," with a new #1 each month for four months in a row. While variant covers, including the crazy QR code powered talking variant and pull-list variants encourage fans to go to their local comic book shop for a print version of the new titles, the publisher has been mum on digital plans. Until now, of course.

Partnering exclusively with comiXology, the digital leader that powers the Marvel and DC Comics apps and digital web stores as well as their own with a huge host of publishers, Valiant will offer their titles same-day digital and print on everything from computers to iPads to Kindle Fire to Android phones and tablets.

"There's tremendous excitement around Valiant's return, and they're bringing with them one of the greatest libraries of comic characters and stories in comics," said comiXology CEO and co-Founder David Steinberger in a press release.

The new titles aren't all, though, as teased by publisher Fred Pierce at C2E2 2012 in Chicago, the Valiant back catalog of original titles will also be showing up digitally, also exclusively on comiXology. Included in today's digital launch are:

• X-O Manowar (1992) #0-6 by Jim Shooter, Bob Layton, Barry Windsor-Smith & Joe Quesada
• Harbinger (1992) #0-6 by Jim Shooter & David Lapham
• Bloodshot (1993) #0-4 by Kevin VanHook & Don Perlin

If those aren't your top titles, though, don't worry, as the press release promises "future digital releases on comiXology will delve deeper into the Valiant catalog, and feature classic series including Archer & Armstrong, Rai, Ninjak, Shadowman, Eternal Warrior, and Quantum & Woody."
