The latest title making the video games-to-comic leap is Rockstar Games' Max Payne 3, getting a three-part comic book release courtesy of Marvel Custom Solutions. The series will be written by Rockstar's Dan Houser and Max Payne series creator Sam Lake, with art from Fernando Blanco (Flashpoint: Secret Seven) and covers by Greg Horn. Issue #1 will be available "in the next few weeks" through Rockstar's "Newswire," the Max Payne 3 official site and unspecified digital comic platforms; "limited print editions" are also in the works. The story is set to serve as a prequel to Max Payne 3, while exploring the early days of the character. Marvel's Custom Solutions division is, as characterized by editor Bill Rosemann, the publisher working with outside companies "to create stories and art in the Mighty Marvel Manner to help them connect in new and exciting ways with their audience." Past clients include Capcom and Hitachi. Max Payne 3 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 15. Got a comment? There's lots of conversation on Newsarama's FACEBOOK and TWITTER!
