Update, May 17: Deadline reports that Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has an official release date of October 4, 2013, and that both Mickey Rourke (Marv) and Jessica Alba (Nancy) are set to return. Over at Entertainment Weekly, they've got a look at the initial teaser poster for the film, seen here. Original story: After years of speculation, a sequel to 2005's Sin City film is now official, with both Robert Rodriguez and comic book series creator Frank Miller — who co-directed the first installment — on board. The movie is currently titled Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, seemingly confirming that story will be one of the arcs adapted in the film. Whether or not Clive Owen will reprise the role of Dwight remains to be seen, but the press release, published on Dateline, states that "many of the original cast" are expected to return. Details — such as which other stories might comprise the film — are yet to be revealed. Miller wrote the script with William Monahan, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Departed. The original Sin City film was released in April 2005, adapting "The Hard Goodbye," "The Big Fat Kill" and "That Yellow Bastard." A sequel has been in some form of development for years, but this is the first official word that the film is headed towards production, with casting scheduled to start next week. Got a comment?
