CLiNT, the cheekily titled print comic book magazine headed up by writer Mark Millar, is relaunching with CLiNT #2.1, out on May 9 in both the UK and the US.
With the relaunch comes a new featured strip titled Death Sentence, from new writer Montynero and artist Mike Dowling. Something of a cross between Black Hole and T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, it's about an STD that gives the infected superpowers and six months to live. Courtesy of CLiNT publisher Titan, Newsarama has an exclusive teaser image of Weasel, one of the main characters.
Here's how Titan describes the story:
"Following the last weeks of graphic designer Verity, failing indie guitarist 'Weasel' and roguish media personality Monty, Death Sentence is a vibrant, thrilling tale with a grounded flavour all its own. By turns hilarious, dark, sad and spectacular, it’s a comic that skewers celebrity culture and sexual mores without losing sight of its heartfelt characters. Plus, lots of things explode!"
CLiNT #2.1 also features Millar's new series Supercrooks (with Leinil Yu) and The Secret Service (with Dave Gibbons), plus Frankie Boyle's Rex Royd.
