UPDATE: Marvel Teases AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Ends of the Earth

Update, 2/24
: And today we get two teasers together.

The Sandman is a "classic" members of the Sinister Six, having appeared in almost every incarnation of the villainous group, since the very beginning.

Chameleon on the other hand is in his first team of the "Six" though he was part of the expanded (and less alliterative) Sinister Twelve.

For the official press release from Marvel, the focus this time is on the full group, and the fact that the Avengers will be there to back up their teammate Spider-man.

"The next big Spider-Man epic begins in Amazing Spider-Man #682, part one of Ends Of The Earth, by Dan Slott and Stefano Caselli! The Sinister Six, led by the vengeful Doctor Octopus, is back and they’re looking for revenge!

Update, 2/23: Thursday means another character-centric "Ends of the Earth" teaser, with Mysterio in the spotlight this time around. Here's what Dan Slott had to say about the master of illusion in Marvel's press release:

"What would happen if Mysterio finally pulled off his greatest special effect? What happens to the showman of crime when the show's over?"

Will the end of the week bring another "Ends of the Earth" teaser? Sure seems likely — check back on this space in about 24 hours.

Update, 2/22: Here's another new "Ends of the Earth" teaser, along with words from Dan Slott about Sinister Six member Electro, courtesy of Marvel's press release:

"Max Dillon has evolved from a simple super villain to a living force of nature," explains Slott. "How can anyone stop power incarnate?"

It certainly seems reasonable to expect another Amazing Spider-Man teaser on Thursday, so check back with us then.

Update, 2/21: After a couple of weeks off, Marvel released a new "Ends of the Earth" teaser on Tuesday afternoon, this one illustrated by Gabriel Dell'otto and highlighting the Spider-Man/Doctor Octopus conflict.

Update, 2/3: The week ends with a fourth "Ends of the Earth" teaser, this one providing a much clearer look of what certainly appears to be a new armored Spidey-suit used by Peter Parker in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man storyline.

Update, 2/2: Thursday brings the third "Ends of the Earth" teaser, and while the first one features the villains of the piece (the Sinister Six) and the second their victims, this one focuses in on Spider-Man himself.

And it looks like, as readers have seen before in the "Big Time" era of Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker has crafted himself yet another new Spider-Man costume, set to tackle whatever "Ends of the Earth" has in store for him.

Is there a fourth teaser on Friday? We'll know in 24 hours or so.

Update, 2/1: Another teaser comes in Tuesday. Though the text accompanying the piece is the same as the first, this one focuses on the people who will be caught in the crossifre of Spidey's next big battle, rather than those directly involved.

Of course, for a man whose main focus is great responsibility, Peter Parker is going to have a problem with people across the world being used or put in danger to get to him.

Original Story: Just a few months after the conclusion of "Spider-Island," the next multi-part Amazing Spider-Man story starts with March's issue #682, "Ends of the Earth." As previously revealed the story will depict the slow-burning endgame of Doctor Octopus and the Sinister Six's plot.

"I am knee-deep in the next epic length story, which is 'Ends of the Earth,'" series writer Dan Slott told Newsarama in December. "The way it's going to be structured is going to be very different than 'Spider-Island.'"

Marvel released the first teaser image for the series Tuesday afternoon, and tradition dictates that more teasers may likely follow later this week. Here's the official press release.
