UPDATED: Marvel Debuts X-MEN Covers for AvX Tie-Ins

Marvel Reveals X-MEN Covers

Second update, 1/20: And here's another Avengers vs. X-Men tie-in cover from Marvel, this time Chris Bachalo's illustration for Wolverine and the X-Men #9, out in April. Clearly, which side Wolverine ends up on will be a big part of the story, and this image represents his conflict in a very direct manner.

Update, 1/20: Marvel has another Avengers vs X-Men tie-in cover to show, this one to April's Uncanny X-Men #11. Here's the cover and Marvel's commentary...

"As the Phoenix Force continues its bee-line towards Earth, Cyclops leads the X-Men into their toughest battle yet! Also, fans can’t miss two mammoth titans, Colossus and Red Hulk, square off in a bare knuckle brawl across Utopia with an outcome that may sway the tide of the war!  Can the X-Men keep the Avengers out of their nation? Find out in Uncanny X-Men #11 from the blockbuster creative team of Kieron Gillen & Greg Land, available in comic shops worldwide and on the Marvel Comics app this April!"

Original story: The cover parade for April 2012's Avengers vs X-Men tie-in issues continues today with Secret Avengers #26. After seeing some early match-ups on the covers of New Avengers and the actual Avengers vs X-Men covers raising some interesting questions, this cover simply shows an altered Secret line-up with a couple of notable members.

Thor is leading the way in this jaunt through space, and despite the battle seemingly already begun, Beast is still accompanying this Avengers squad, lending more credence to the idea that he and fellow Avengers Wolverine and Storm might have a little more thinking to do about which side they land on than readers would first think. Oh, and Captain Britain can survive in space without any kind of spacesuit or mask. Who knew?

Marvel's official accompanying text below:

As the Marvel Universe sits in-between the crosshairs of the all-powerful Phoenix Force, Thor leads the Secret Avengers to space to face the cosmic entity head on! Will their plan work or has Captain America thrown the team into a suicide mission? Find out in Secret Avengers #26 from critically acclaimed writer Rick Remender and fan favorite artist Renato Guedes available in comic shops worldwide and on the Marvel Comics app this April! With a cover by living legend Alan Davis, no fan can miss this!
