FRINGE Star Writes Digital Comic Tie-In

Fox sci-fi series Fringe returns to the airwaves for its fourth season on Friday, and is returning to comic books this week with Beyond the Fringe, a digital exclusive tie-in written in part by the show's star, Joshua Jackson.

The series is scheduled for 14 chapters, with the first installment available now through DC's iOS apps and Comics by comiXology (iOS, Android and web) for 99 cents. Subsequent issues will be released every two weeks. Chapters will be broken into "A" and "B" sections, with the "A" parts tied into Fringe canon, and the "B" stories acting as a "what if?" Jackson, making his comic book writing debut, will write "Peter and the Machine," an arc told in the first three "A" issues.

This isn't the first comic book series based on Fringe. Two previous six-issue miniseries, 2008's Fringe and 2010's Tales From the Fringe, were released through DC's now-defunct Wildstorm imprint.
