Image Teases Mysterious PROJECT OMAHA

Image Comics is embarking on a new teaser campaign, promoting a book starting in December 2011 from writer Nathan Edmondson (Who Is Jake Ellis?, Grifter) and artist Mitch Gerads (Starborn colorist).

The codename for the mysterious project, as revealed as far back as March USA Today article, is "Project Omaha." But as revealed in an equally mysterious interview on Broken Frontier, that's not the actual name of the series — though the true title is yet to be revealed.

The first, "Designation: Speakeasy," comes with the tagline, "A silencer speaks louder than words." The second, "Designation: Bookstore," reads, "Failure is an unacceptable footnote." Make of that what you will.

In April, Gerads talked to Newsarama about the project: "I have a new series coming out later this year from Image Comics, with writer Nathan Edmondson of Who is Jake Ellis?, that's a very real world story that I'm trying to really romanticize the colors on and I'm really excited to bring that juxtaposition to the reader."

With two teasers in two days, it's likely they're might be at least one more debuting on Friday — keep reading Newsarama to see how this one develops.
