Further Team Dissension Shown in Latest ALPHA FLIGHT Teaser

Marvel Teases Upcoming ALPHA FLIGHT

Update, Sept. 9: Marvel closes out the week Friday afternoon with another Alpha Flight teaser, this one highlighting the Guardian vs. Vindicator conflict that has driven the relaunched series thus far, with a tagline of "Vindicated."

"What really is going on with Heather Hudson?" Alpha Flight co-writer Fred Van Lente rhetorically asked in an interview last month with Newsarama. "Because there's clearly something very wrong with her, but we don't quite know what it is yet."

Here's official word from Marvel:

"Alpha Flight is now an ongoing series, but can the team hold it together as a betrayal comes to blows?"

Update, Sept. 8: Yep, as suspected, Wednesday's Guardian vs. Wolverine teaser was just the first in a series of images promoting Marvel's now-ongoing Alpha Flight series.

Thursday brings twin warfare in the form of siblings Northstar and Aurora coming to blows, with the tagline of "Betrayed." Here's what Marvel has to say:

"Alpha Flight is now an ongoing series, but can the team hold it together as a betrayal comes to blows?"

Stay tuned to see if Friday makes three.

Original story, Sept. 7: As announced late last month at the Fan Expo convention in Toronto, Alpha Flight is now an ongoing series, and Marvel is promoting that Wolverine — himself a Canadian with plenty of history with the team — will be appearing in the book soon, with the tagline "Avenged."

In a recent interview with Newsarama, Alpha Flight co-writer Greg Pak said that a Wolverine appearance in the series is "entirely approriate" given the character's background.

"It's a slow burn that will have a great payoff, and a perfectly appropriate story/character-related payoff," Pak said.

Co-writer Fred Van Lente hinted that Wolverine might not be the only Avenger showing up in Alpha Flight.

"It's quite possible that the Avengers are going to be interested —once Fear Itself has concluded — in what's going on north of the border, since that is a security situation for the United States," Van Lente told Newsarama.

The file name of the image sent to the press is "ComingSoonInALPHAFLIGHT_1.jpg," so it's entirely possible more Alpha Flight teasers may be on the way. Here's the (brief) text of Marvel's accompanying release:

Coming Soon In ALPHA FLIGHT!
