BOOM! Studios Launches PEANUTS Ongoing
Following the departure of their licensed Disney titles in October, BOOM! Studios is launching a monthly Peanuts ongoing series with a #0 issue in November. The comic will cost $1 and be part of their "KABOOM!" all-ages line, with a #1 following in January. The Los Angeles-based publisher's relationship with Charles Schulz's beloved comic strip characters started this spring with the release of graphic novel Happiness Is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown, an adaptation of a direct-to-DVD animation of the same name. Several Peanuts animations have been produced since Schulz's death in 2000, but print efforts have been rare outside of BOOM's previous release. No creative talents have been announced for the book at this point, but BOOM editor-in-chief Matt Gagnon said in the official release, "The team we have assembled and the guidance of the folks at Peanuts Worldwide and Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, we're confident that we'll be delivering to fans the best Peanuts monthly comic book series anyone could imagine." Got a comment?
