Update: X-MEN: REGENESIS Teaser 8 - X-FACTOR: HAVOK!

New X-Men Regenesis Teasers Revealed

Update 7, August 23: You guys. YOU GUYS. HAVOK. Okay, allow me to regain my composure a moment...

For the X-Factor teaser image, we see a bunch of shadows, including that Strong Guy shadow we mentioned earlier and HAVOK IS BACK AND BACK WITH X-FACTOR WHERE HE BELONGS. Ahem, sorry about that. In a move that will surely make - certain - fans very happy, Havok is back from his exile in space, and with the team that he once lead. Is he the leader again? What does this mean for the current leader Jamie Madrox? Is Polaris back with him? The answer to all these questions is: who cares, Havok is back! No, no, it's that we'll have to read to find out. But this shake-up certainly seems to be fan-favorite oriented with characters like Havok, X-Man, Jubilee, and Nightcrawler taking center stage.

Below we have Marvel's official text and the "finished" poster. We put that in quotes because it doesn't really look finished; now it may be that there are two people back to back, but the shadows don't match up. Or maybe it's actually two separate posters, equally possible. We'll find out, but usually Marvel will make it easy on us and mark the last teaser as "final" so we'll see!

This Winter, Emanuela Lupacchino joins X-Factor scribe Peter David for a roster shakeup that will have everyone talking!

Is this it or is there more? Is this it or is there more?

Update 6, August 22: X-Man! It's a veritable cornucopia of Age of Apocalypse hold-overs as the genetically engineered test-tube son of that world's Cyclops and Jean Grey joins the middle generation of X-Men in New Mutants. David Lopez also joins the team, but as artist, not as a superpowered hero. The teaser text asks "Who will join X-Man?" but well, we kinda know that already. The cover to #33 has already been released, and shows most of the old squad. We did get re-confirmation here that this team is on the "Blue Team." If you have missed any of the big Regenesis news of the last two weeks, check out our summary countdown here.

Official Marvel text for New Mutants, followed by the newest poster, just missing X-Factor now:

This fall, acclaimed artist David Lopez (Hawkeye & Mockingbird, Mystic) joins the fan favorite writing tag-team of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning for a New Mutants epic like no other!

Update 5, August 19: Uncanny X-Force joins the fray, marking the return of NIGHTCRAWLER! The teleporting mutant apparently died back in the big Hope saga, but we all know you can't keep a good mutant down, especially in a world full of parallel realities, time travel, and other death-defying sciences (the team, afterall, is currently visiting the Age of Apocalypse timeline).

Robbi Rodriguez joins writer Rick Remender for Uncanny X-Force #19. We also see in the newest version of the poster (we recommend right-clicking and opening in a new tab for that one), which you can find below Marvel's official text, that we can still expect teasers for X-Factor (between Legacy and X-Force) and New Mutants falling on the other side of Wolvie. Also note the blue titles for one half and gold for the other, giving us another pretty clear indication that this is a "party lines" division post-Schism.

Update 4, August 18: As predicted, we have another teaser for you, and this time it's the "adjectiveless" X-Men. This is the team, as described by editorial and creative alike, that interacts more directly with the core Marvel Universe, the people you'll see alongside Spider-Man or the Avengers.

So, it's a little surprising to see Jubilee as the "feature" character in this one. Though honestly, she looks a little surprised herself. Here's Marvel's official release, also announcing newly-exclusive Will Conrad as the new artist on the title. Your updated "poster" is below. It should be noted that we could still have three more, as it looks like there's room to the right of Rogue's team for one extra teaser.

Newly exclusive Marvel artist Will Conrad, joins superstar writer Victor Gischler as the X-Men head into this all-new era for mutantkind.

Update 3.5, August 16: It seems we're missing three more teasers. It is apparent that these teasers will eventually interconnect into one large poster showing the entire cast of the X-Books. With the backgrounds used to connect them, there are three clear holes.

Guesses have X-Factor between Legacy and Wolverine (thanks to what looks like Strong Guy's arm), then leaving, we again speculate, X-Force or X-Men and New Mutants to round out the seven team titles in the X-Men line.

Whether this also means something larger, in reference to the Schism, with Rogue's group "siding" with Wolverine and Hope and company "siding" with the Uncanny crew, remains to be seen. None-the-less, looks like you can look forward to three more of these (which we'll place within the larger poster as they come)!

Update 3, August 16: Well, we knew X-Men Legacy couldn't just be left out of the party, could it? Rogue's squadron will be getting some changes with the Regenesis as well, and has some shadowy friends on the cover for you to guess about. It's also noted that this is writer Mike Carey's last arc with the X-Men, bringing a six year run to a close.

Marvel's offical bit is below:

Update 2, August 15: After six days off, another new "Regenesis" teaser has arrived, this one bringing some news among the shadowy figures: Generation Hope is getting a creative team as of November's issue #13, in the form of writer James Asmus — who penned the "X-Men/Super Soldier: Escape From the Negative Zone" story released earlier this year — and artist Ibraim Roberson, who has previous X-books experience in the pages of New Mutants and X-Men Origins: Gambit. They're taking over the book from writer Kieron Gillen (who's still on Uncanny X-Men, as detailed below) and a variety of artists, most recently Tim Seeley.

Like the past two teasers, all but one character is blacked out, and this one is a surprise: Sebastian Shaw, new to the book and recently seen on the big screen in X-Men: First Class, portrayed by Kevin Bacon. Shaw was last seen in Uncanny X-Men, with Emma Frost wiping his memory at the end of Matt Fraction's run on the title.

Here's the (brief) official press release text from Marvel:

Update 1, August 9: While, as noted below, there has already been a shadowy teaser cover of Wolverine standing amongst several blacked out figures, Marvel didn't want him to feel left out after Emma's release. Perhaps between the two, the guessing game can get a little bit easier. No new written information was provided. The full solitation text for the first issue follows:

Original Story: In the tradition of the shadowy Wolverine and the X-Men #1 cover released last month, Marvel's issued a teaser for the new Uncanny X-Men #1, starting in November as part of the "Regenesis" era following the X-Men: Schism split between Cyclops and Wolverine. Eagle-eyed readers will remember this was part of the art explosion from Comic-Con International: San Diego in July.

As you can see, Emma Frost is there, along with... is that Juggernaut? Maybe?
